Cause for Hope

In December the Peace Index Survey carried out a poll among Israeli citizens. People were asked whether what they considered the chances were of reaching a peace agreement with an Abu Mazen led Government. Only 32% considered the chances high or moderately high. After four and a half long years more than half of those surveyed, 57%, considered the chances low or moderately low. For the next question people were asked whether they supported renewing negotiations with Palestinians. A massive 75% said they did.

In other words, though 57% think there is little chance for peace, 75% think it is worth trying. Despite everything I think that is reason for hope.
